Most of my primary students improve by 10 - 20 marks after attending my lessons for 2-3 months. I must stress that the result depend on many factors, like the child's learning ability, the school's standard, the child's willingness to learn on his or her own time, parents' guidance, etc.
From my experience, results are sometimes out of our control. However, if you apply the formula below, generally speaking, the student will be able to achieve the expected result:
Caring Tutor + Hardworking Student + Supportive Parent = Expected Results
In 2014, on average, my students' results improve by 5 - 20 marks after 2 - 5 months of continuous tuition. The students that improve the most are those that have regular tuition and follow my instructions. They normally score between 40 - 80 marks before starting my tuition.
In most years, more than 80% of my P6 Science students will achieve either an "A" or "A*" during the PSLE. I have taken many bright students who kept struggling at around the 85 marks range to achieve 91 and above during the school prelims and finally and "A*" during the PSLE within 3 months of intensive 1-to-1 coaching (July to September).
As for Maths, the performance of my P6 students fluctuate each year according to the standard of student I took in and the level of difficulty of the PSLE Maths Paper. Generally, most of my students improve by 1 grade or more during the PSLE.
