I am an experienced male Primary Tutor/PSLE Tutor who offers individual (1-to-1) or Group Tuition for Primary Maths Tuition/Primary Science Tuition/PSLE Maths Tuition/PSLE Science Tuition at the student's house. I graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor Degree in Economics.Teaching Experience
I have been giving private primary tuition/psle tuition ever since I finished my A Levels examination. When I was serving NS, I became a part time primary tutor/psle tutor, tutoring students during the weekends and this continued when I was an undergraduate in NUS. Upon graduation from the university, I taught at a MOE Primary School on contract teaching for 6 months. I found that the work scope of a primary school teacher was too wide - besides teaching, a primary school teacher also needs to be in charge of CCAs and there is countless of administrative work. I was only interested in Teaching only. As a result, I declined the chance to go to NIE and went on to the private teaching sector.
I taught at the private sector for about 4-5 years. I was a Full Time Primary Tutor/PSLE Tutor at 2 established Tuition Centres that had more than 10 branches in Singapore each. I gave Small Group Tuition for classes of 6 - 10 students per class. The students came from different background - some were from both Top Primary Schools and others from Neighbourhood Primary Schools. At one of the tuition centres, I was promoted to Head of Department for Primary Maths and Primary Science. I was in charged or curriculum development, lesson planning, training of primary tutors and psle tutors, etc. I was also taking the most number of PSLE Maths Tuition and PSLE Science Tuition classes - about 7 PSLE classes per year. In between, I taught at a Private School for a short period of time. The students there were from nearby foreign countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and China. Generally, they have weaker learning ability compared to local students.
Thereafter, I left the private teaching sector and became a Full Time Primary Tutor/PSLE Tutor. I provide either individual Primary Tuition or Group Primary Tuition at the student's residence. I have been giving freelance primary tuition for the past 4 years.
Students Taught
As mentioned earlier, as a primary tutor/psle tutor with more than 10 years of teaching experience, I have taught students of different learning abilities, ranging from poor learning abilities to those that are very bright. Some of them were from Top Primary Schools like Anglo-Chinese Primary School, Rosyth Primary School, Henry Park Primary School. Others were from less well known schools like South View Primary School, Lakeside Primary School and Jurong Primary School. Besides local students, I have also taught many foreign students when I was teaching at the Private School. All in all, I have taught hundreds of primary students.
General Teaching Methodology
I am a patient Primary Tutor/ PSLE Tutor and will explain every Maths and Science Concept thoroughly in a Step-by-Step Manner until the student grasp the concept. This method is very effective, especially when going through the 5 marks type of Maths Problem Sums or the Challenging Science Process Skill Questions for high ability students and average ability students. For weak students, they can finally understand at least the basic concepts of Maths and Science and get the simple questions correct.
Levels and Subjects TaughtCurrently, I am taking in students from Primary 3 to Primary 6. I only provide Primary Maths Tuition/ PSLE Maths Tuition/ Primary Science Tuition/ PSLE Science Tuition. Most of my students are in Primary 6 and they would be taking their PSLE.
Location
I only provide tuition at my classroom located at Jurong West Street 52, which is near to Lakeside mrt. I no longer provide tuition at the student's house.
